| Genesys Angelbridge Fund I, L.P., is a Delaware limited partnership organized to make early stage investments focusing primarily on technology and service companies in the Internet/electronic commerce industry with the potential for substantial long-term capital appreciation. A key distinguishing feature of the Fund is its emphasis on second-stage financing: investing in companies making the transition from early angel-backed stage to institutional venture capital funding. The Principals believe that there is a great need for capital in this transition stage and that investments can be made at very attractive valuations. The Fund also retains the discretion to make a limited number of founding stage investments in Internet-related companies.
The participation of Genesys Partners, Inc., also makes the Fund unique. Genesys Partners, Inc., provides the Fund with sources for potential investments from its vast pool of connections in the investment and Internet communities, and provides hands-on nurturing to Portfolio Companies to usher them from the early start-up stage to the venture capital stage.
The Fund, an independent venture capital fund, invests primarily in companies based in the northeastern United States. The Fund will endeavor to achieve above average rates of return through early stage investments in 20-40 companies. The Fund will not invest more than $2,000,000 in any one of its Portfolio Companies without approval of the Advisory Committee.
The Fund's emphasis on the Internet/electronic commerce industry arises from the Principals' background and experience in the industry and their belief that the Intemet/electronic commerce industry, which is undergoing significant change, provides substantial opportunity for companies which, among other things, (i) significantly improve established protocols, (ii) effectively address unmet needs with new products and services or (iii) offer payors, providers, and other practitioners innovative and cost effective solutions that optimize outcomes.
